Do I have to purchase in advance?
Tours fill up quickly for all seasons, especially summer and winter, we encourage you to purchase your tour in advance so we can offer your preferred date. You can reserve and purchase your tour by booking online
How long do the tours last?
Most tours run between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the experience, and sometimes multiple days. However, we offer exceptions for our winter overnight cross-country ski tour, as well as private tours, retreats, and custom retreats and events, which can be personalized just for you.
Are tours canceled due to weather?
Tours run in all weather, rain or shine—so bring what you need to stay comfortable. If it’s hot, wear sunscreen and a hat; if rain is in the forecast, pack a jacket and your favorite umbrella. Winter tours require warm layers, gloves, a hat, snow pants, and proper boots. Evening tours get chilly, so come prepared. Weather shifts are common, so plan accordingly. If extreme weather forces a cancellation, we’ll contact you to reschedule.
How many guests are on a tour?
Tour size is often small groups averaging under 10 guests depending on the season and event. There is a 20-person maximum for public walking tours & a 10-person maximum for public hiking tours unless a private tour or event is requested.
Can private tours be arranged?
Yes. All scheduled tours can be booked online as a private experience when open (ALL TOURS and PRIVATE TOURS). To reserve a specific date and curate a customized, unique, private exclusive experience, please fill out this form and we will be back with you shortly.
Is it an easy excursion?
The hikes are rated on each tour page, as easy, moderate, and hard. We prefer to keep our walking tours easy casual strolls on sidewalks for all ages so the whole family can enjoy. Winter tour snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are easy to moderate.
What age is appropriate for the tours?
All ages are welcome. While the sunset ghost tour is best suited to ages 7+ it is up to the parent’s discretion to bring younger children.
The longer hiking tours are best suited for ages 10+.
Are kids under 6 free?
Yes, children 6 years old and younger are free when accompanied by an adult. Please include a note while booking.
May I bring a dog on the tour?
Depending on the season, we would love to have your pup join us. If they are well-behaved, not a distraction, and other guests are comfortable with them you are welcome to bring pets. Tours that do not allow pets, considering we may be going inside a few establishments, will be labeled on the registration page. Please ask in advance for your particular tour so we don’t have more dogs than people, text 970-708-0437 and refer to which tour, and we will reply.
Would I enjoy the tour as a local?
Absolutely! Our tours aren’t just for visitors—locals often discover fascinating stories and hidden gems they never knew, even after years of living here. It’s a fun way to see your community from a fresh perspective!
What tours are wheelchair accessible?
All of the downtown walking tours are wheelchair accessible. We have a few nature walks that are as well, one to a beautiful waterfall.
Should I tip the guide?
Tips are always appreciated. If you enjoyed your tour please feel free to tip the guide with the QR code on the card given to you at the end of the tour, Venmo, or cash to let them know they did a fantastic job.

What is your cancellation policy?
Public tours must be canceled 48 hours before start for a full refund.
Where can I park in Telluride?
Please read all signs. Paid parking is available on the streets in downtown Telluride through QR codes on signs or free-standing meters. Free parking is also available just drop free parking in Telluride in your maps, Carhenge is a 10-minute walk to the core. There is free parking on some streets, limited 2 hours unless you have a special housing, hotel, or work permit. As most tours meet in the center of Telluride it is often an easy walk from many hotels & residences to the meeting location.
If you’re not staying within walking distance, the public town bus, or gondola from the Mountain Village or Telluride Express (9700-708-0437 may be able to get you there. If you do not have any luck, please call us at (970)-708-0437
